Look at the bathroom and the piping
We check the existing valve, drain, supply lines and the framing under and behind the fixture, and go over the tub, base or pan you have picked out.
Firm price and permit
You get a written scope and a firm price approved before work starts. Where the town requires it, we pull the plumbing permit and schedule the rough inspection.
Remove and rough in
The old tub or shower comes out, and the new valve, supply lines and drain are set to the exact specifications of the fixture going in.
Set the fixture and test
The tub, base or pan drain is installed and connected, the valve and drain are water tested, and the rough inspection is met before the walls close.
Trim out after finish
Once the tile or surround is complete we install the valve trim, shower head, spout, drain cover and any hand shower or body sprays, and test the whole assembly with you.

What is the difference between a pressure-balance and a thermostatic valve?
A pressure-balance valve keeps the mix steady when pressure changes, such as when a toilet flushes. A thermostatic valve holds a set temperature and lets you control volume separately. Both work well, and we explain the trade-offs for your house before you choose.
Can you move the shower drain?
Usually, yes. It depends on the joist direction, the location of the vent and how far the drain has to travel. We look under the floor before promising a new location.
Do you do the tile work?
No. We handle the plumbing side, including the drain, valve, supply lines and the pan drain connection, and coordinate with your tile contractor so the two sides meet correctly.
Do I need a permit to replace a tub or shower?
It depends on the town and on whether piping is being moved or replaced. Where the local code office requires it, we pull the plumbing permit and schedule the rough inspection.
Why does my new shower have low pressure?
Most often the supply lines feeding it are old galvanized steel that has scaled shut inside, or the pipe is simply undersized. We check the supply before installing a new valve so this does not happen.
