Hopewell Township is the rural northwest of Mercer County — the Sourland ridge on one side, the Delaware River and Route 29 on the other, with Titusville, Harbourton and Washington Crossing scattered in between. Housing ranges from farmhouses and old stone homes to newer subdivisions along the Route 31 corridor, and plenty of the outlying properties are on private wells and septic systems. Well water, septic fields and long driveways all change how a plumbing job gets planned.

What We See in Hopewell Township Homes & Buildings
- Private wells are common in the outlying parts of the township, and hard water, iron staining and sediment are the usual reasons people call about filtration or a softener.
- Septic systems change both what belongs down a drain and how a blockage should be cleared, so we identify the system before choosing a method.
- Away from the gas mains, propane and oil heat are still normal, which affects whether a heat pump or a new boiler is the better replacement.
- Thick-walled farmhouse and stone construction offers nowhere to run a duct chase, so ductless equipment and hydronic upgrades are usually the practical retrofits.

Hopewell Township Plumbing & HVAC FAQs
We are on a well. How do you decide what treatment we need?
We start with a water test, because hardness, iron and sediment all call for different equipment. Sizing the system to the test results is what keeps you from buying a softener that does nothing about the real problem.
Does being on septic limit how you clear a clogged drain?
It shapes the approach. We avoid the harsh chemical products that damage a septic system, and we choose the clearing method based on where the blockage sits relative to the tank.
Our property has no natural gas service. What are our heating options?
Propane, oil and heat pumps all work here, and the right answer depends on the house. We calculate the heat loss and compare the real installed and operating costs of each before recommending one.
